H.E. Var Kimhong, Senior
Minister in charge of Border Affairs (JBC)
held a press
conference
On
2nd February at 8 P.M. H.E. Var Kimhong, Senior
Minister in charge of Border Affairs (JBC) before leaving
to discuss Cambodian border issue with his Thai counterpart in
Bangkok held a press conference at the international Phnom Penh
Airport.
H.E. Var Kimhong
said the
discussion will focus on a plan of clearing mine and demarcating
areas near the Preah Vihear Temple which is deemed as priority.
He also raised the issue of overlapping maritime boundary.
During the conference, H.E. Var Kimhong told the
journalists he is optimistic about the talk. He stressed
Cambodia side uses bilateral mechanism following Prime Minister
Hun Sen’s recommendation to continue bilateral negotiation with
Thailand.
