New Ambassador of New Zealand Pays a Courtesy Visit to DPM Sok An

 

H.E. Mr. Sok An, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in Charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers had a meeting with H.E. Mr. Bede Corry, the newly-accredited Ambassador of New Zealand to Cambodia on November 16, 2009 at the Office of the Council of Ministers.

In the meeting, the Ambassador informed the Deputy Prime Minister that he would strive to further strengthen the bi-lateral relations between the two countries. He highly appreciated the successful partnership of New Zealand with APSARA as well as the contribution of New Zealand to human resource development in Cambodia (especially English Language Training), sustainable development, trade policies, etc.

H.E. Mr. Sok An warmly welcomed the presence of the new Ambassador, highlighting the experience and success of the Kingdom of Cambodia in the spheres of conservation and sustainable development of national cultural heritages, in particular the internationally-recognized  success of the International Coordinating Committee on the Safeguarding and Development of the Historic Site of Angkor (ICC). He also insisted New Zealand to be more active in contributing towards the human resource development in Cambodia.
